About The Artist & Studio

My passion for ceramics is rooted in the endless possibilities working with clay provides, allowing me to shape the earth to portray my vision. Functional and sculptural ceramics that engage the senses and leave a lasting impression on the viewer are essential to me as a visual artist.

  • Raku Workshops

Prices are determined by quantity and size of Pottery pieces selected for firing. $20 - $150

Let your inner pyromaniac take the lead with our Raku Pottery firing experience. Learn the process of Raku, starting with decorating pre-made forms with heavy metal glazes. These vessels are then rapidly heated to 1850*F. Once red hot, we transfer the molten pots to bins filled with combustible materials for reduction firing. This results in one of a kind pots that can never be replicated. The areas where flames lick and touch the pots during reduction results in a beautiful variation of colorful chemical reactions. Any places left bare during glazing become carbon soaked and result in dark sooty coloration. There is also the option to decorate your pot with various combustibles that the attendee can bring for further customization of their pottery.

Things people have previously burned onto naked pots include: Variety of Hair (Horse, Human, Pet), Feathers (The fluffier the better), Honey, Salt, Sugar, Yeast Mixtures.

  • Private & Group Lessons

All ages are welcome to attend so long as they are capable of following set instructions and maintaining a safe creative environment for other studio members.
